Hutto needs a representative that will support the full range of housing options, diversification of the tax base, and timely completion of needed infrastructure projects, while working with all stake holders in Hutto. I am that person. Go Hippos!
I have served on two city commissions here in Hutto for the last three years. I am currently on the Planning and Zoning board as Vice Chair. I also serve as the Chairman of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and as a board member of the Hutto Economic Development Corporation. Serving has allowed me to use Robert's Rules of Order and know how to communicate with respect and timeliness in a public forum. This is the kind of civility and procedure we need to make things happen to benefit Hutto.
We have many opportunities for the future and I want to ensure that we work with our new city manager to keep Hutto moving forward. Hutto City Council needs to fulfill the plans approved by the voters that were financed by bond measures the citizens passed.
I am asking for you to help me make Hutto the best city it can be and to ensure our long-term stability. The city will be working on a Comprehensive Plan to provide a 20-year vision for how the city will grow and develop through year 2040. That future may seem far away, but the decisions we make today will affect our quality of life tomorrow and how we want to grow. The Comprehensive Plan is a guide for making wise land use decisions to ensure steady progress toward our desired future vision regardless who is on council in the future. Our P&Z committee will work with the community and an engineering firm to create the best vision for Hutto.
